One of 3 Hostetler sculptures of the male form. This carving was inspired by David’s grandfather, who was Amish. This bronze was patinaed in the same colors of the original wood carving done in the early 1960’s. He has a folk like quality to his stance and soft forms.
The original wood is in the Minneapolis Art Museum. Currently at Athens, Oh studios.
