Ziricote is a rare wood that only grows in Belize.
The bronze casting of the same name was molded on this wood carving. Inspired by African forms, Hostetler purifies and refines the lines but the rough carving marks add a raw and edgy note to the sculpture. The study for this is a 53″ version on an antique stone pedestal. Even though she is very slender, she maintains her striking presence and mesmerizes you. Perfect for a corner placement.
