Bronze with dark brown patina
2006
Also referred to as the Trump Duo. Bronze with dark brown patina, highly textured surface. The figures seem to grow out of the ground like trees and fuse at the top to become one. The Duo was originally conceived as a maquette of a fused couple during the time David was considering marrying his current wife, Susan. David felt he had to “bond” in his art before bonding with Susan.
Philip Johnson chose this sculpture for the pocket park at Trump International Hotel and Tower, NYC . It was commissioned by General Electric’s CEO to honor the late partner of this project, Dan Galbreath. This sculpture can also be commissioned in a larger scale.
