This sculpture has been in the private collection of David and Susan Hostetler since it was created. Tree Goddess is a commanding presence with the frontal gaze, flared shoulders and tree form with burl adding an earth mound allusion. It’s the first use of a burl and the start of his love affair with zebra wood. It was one of our collectors who had connections with exotic wood dealers who helped David procure this log from West Africa. Outstanding for a front entry hall of a home or hotel.
